Bob Fitzgerald's Journey From WVFI to the NBA

The Golden State Warriors, once perennial losers, just played themselves into the history books. They followed up last year’s championship with the greatest regular season in NBA history, supplanting Michael Jordan’s 1995-96 Chicago Bulls with an incredible 73-9 record. 

When future generations look back at the highlights, one voice will provide the narration. It’s the voice of a man whose boyhood dreams came true. A voice honed by decades of diligence and buoyed by the confidence that comes with believing you were born to do something. 

Bob Fitzgerald ’88 called his first games on WVFI, Notre Dame’s student radio station. More than 30 years later, he’s had a front-row seat and documented all the action for one of the most impressive runs in the history of professional sports.
